Our shelter lost a member of the team this week and our hearts are broken. Many of you have seen “Front Office Support “ , Rosie, sleeping under our receptionist desk. Rosie was 14yrs old, and came to work with her mom nearly every day for 6yrs. Rescued herself, Rosie helped foster countless puppies and kittens (bottle babies were her favorite), provided emotional support for office staff, and in her younger days she helped socialize and temperament test our adoptable dogs. When she retired from dog testing, she still wanted to come to work, so she moved into her retirement spot under the desk… still loving on everyone that came by. Thank you Rosie for a job well done, you are so missed by your mom and all of us.
Please keep our team in your thoughts as many of them loved Rosie as their own.
Also to add, Thank you to PetCare cremations in Kingsport for your excellent care with her. ... See MoreSee Less

Question...this next weekend we are supposed to get up to 7" of snow. Will the spay and neuter clinic still be happening on Monday if we get that much snow? I have a stray kitty I took on that's scheduled to be spayed, but if it snows that much I don't know if I'll be able to get her there. Should I just reschedule?
1/24/26 We are going to close early today at 1pm due to the storm threat. Please ensure that your pets stay warm and dry. Outside pets should have dry straw , sturdy house, and unfrozen water. Please check on them regularly if you cannot bring them in. Everyone stay safe! ❄️ ... See MoreSee Less

My daughter said somebody has little puppies in a crate in front of hobby lobby again selling them out here in this weather. I do not remember what happened the last time, but I don't think this is legal or moral. I'm just letting you know because I don't know who else to let know

Bless It! That baby needs care and love! I would take this baby and spoil it.
Its very skinny. Hip bones are sticking out 😭..... however, what kind of dog was it that ran off when the car it was in wrecked on the interstate a couple months ago....?
Praying this poor dog does not go back to its owners because they clearly can't take care of it. This is so sad to see. Praying it gets care and a loving home.

💙Friday Foster Feature 🐾
Meet Tevro
Tevro is a sweet, 1 year old boy that is doing great in his foster home. He came to us with some skin issues and was skinny but is looking great!! 😍
He is getting along well with the other dogs 🐕 in his foster home, seems tolerate of the kitty 😺 and has done great using the doggy door.
He is affectionate, loves cuddles, and does great on a leash. He is learning how to be a doggy and would love to find his forever home 🏡
Would you like to adopt??
Call the shelter to schedule a meet with this sweet boy 💙
