The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County will be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
As you celebrate America’s 250th birthday, please help keep your pets safe: 🐾 Keep pets indoors during fireworks whenever possible. 🐾 If they need to go outside, always use a leash—even in a fenced yard if they’re prone to spooking. 🐾 Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with a current ID tag and that their microchip information is up to date.
Fireworks can be frightening, and every year shelters see an increase in lost pets after the holiday. Taking a few simple precautions can help ensure your furry family members stay safe at home.
From all of us at the Animal Shelter of Sullivan County, we wish you a safe, fun, and Happy Fourth of July as we celebrate 250 years of America! ❤️🤍 ... See MoreSee Less
Adopted “Jack” right around Christmas time. He’s about 8 months old now. Renamed Tobias and he loves picking on his older brother Theo. Thank goodness Theo has patience 😂 he is a spunky little thing, and is very loved. 🥰
This is the late Sylvia. Adopted in 2009. My grand daughter had never seen kittens as all our cats were spayed and neutered adults. I took her to the shelter to see kittens. Sylvia climbed on my shoulder in my hair and we got a kitten. She had more personality than most people. When the Koi pons froze over, she would run and slide on the ice, bulldoze through show and have a ball. Then she came in and got under the bedspread and napped.
I think I know who’s dog this belongs to and it may be better if with y’all. They’ve been trying to rehome it😭 markings look identical if I am correct.
I hope he finds a good family that can care for him I’m surprised he didn’t get hit by a car on Ridge rd! He’s beautiful .♥️🐶
Please never leave your pet in a parked car—not even for a few minutes.
Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a vehicle can become deadly in minutes. If your pet can’t go inside with you, it’s safest to leave them at home.
Do you know me? I was found hung on train tracks (was wearing a harness and my leash got stuck) near Vance tank rd. Please have my family call the shelter at 423-279-2741 ... See MoreSee Less
Looks like yet another wandering Pyrenees mix. Wishing these owners would bother to do the one thing that will save their dog's life aside from keeping them contained safely. A collar with a name tag and phone number on it and a chip. Huge thank you to everybody who rescued this beautiful pup
Wow people don’t realize how dangerous leashes can be situations like this
